For Patients:
Does Medicare cover in-home physical therapy?
Yes, Novoleo accepts Traditional Medicare Part B for covered services.
How does the billing process work?
Novoleo accepts Traditional Medicare Part B and private pay — we do not accept Medicare Advantage (replacement) plans. After verifying your Medicare benefits, each session is submitted to Medicare for review. Coverage is strictly dependent on your individual plan details. Before your initial evaluation, we do our best to provide you with information about your copay or coinsurance so you know your out-of-pocket costs in advance. Private pay clients can schedule directly without an insurance verification step.
Can I go directly to my physical therapist?
Yes. Florida is a "Direct Access" state, meaning you do not need a referral from a physician to begin physical therapy — you can come directly to us as your first line of care for pain or injury. You can be evaluated and treated for up to 30 days without a physician's signature.However, to continue therapy beyond that initial period, Florida law (and Medicare, for Medicare patients) requires a physician or nurse practitioner to review and sign your plan of care. We send your plan of care to your physician for signature as part of this process, and we cannot continue treatment without it.Occupational therapy works differently: it requires a prescription from a physician or nurse practitioner before we can begin treatment.We always aim to work collaboratively with your physician to provide a comprehensive, coordinated care plan.

As a patient, you have the right to choose where and who you would like to receive rehabilitation services from. Most patients prefer to have these services in their home. There are several reasons for this:

Is my therapist licensed?
All of our physical therapists and occupational therapists are Licensed by the State of Florida and hold advanced degrees in therapy. In addition, our team is also trained in speciality areas such as Health Coaching, Kinesiology, Geriatric Exercise Science, Lymphedema treatment, LSVT (Parkinsons Program), and Dementia just to name a few.
What do you need from me to get started?
Prior to your first visit, you will send a copy of your identification card, as well as your insurance card so that we can verify your insurance benefits. We will send you paperwork via email that you can complete online if you able.
How do I get started with Novoleo?

What happens during my first visit?
During your first visit, a thorough interview, evaluation and examination will be performed. This encompasses evidenced-based standardized testing, and a health questionnaire. Based on your particular needs there may be more or less testing required.
How long will each treatment last?
You should expect your initial evaluation to last from 60-90 minutes, with follow up appointments lasting 45-60 minutes depending on your plan of care.
How should I dress?
We recommend wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothes including T-shirts, sweats, shorts and good supportive shoes, such as gym shoes.
Why are people referred to physical and occupational therapy?
There are many reasons patients may be referred to therapy such as shoulder pain, back pain, difficulty walking, arthritis, falls, joint replacements, Parkinsons, post-stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, loss of function that inhibits independence in self-care skills, and generalized strengthening and balance training to reduce fall occurrences. Our main priority is to get you to meet or exceed your functional independence goals and return to your desired lifestyle.
What types of treatments will I receive?
The type of therapy you will receive is dependent on your specific needs. The evaluation will paint the picture of your physical function and its impact on your lifestyle. This information is utilized to fashion a specific plan of care to meet your individual needs. We have many tools to address your needs including whole body vibration, electrical stimulation therapy, ultrasound therapy, cold therapy, heat therapy,self-care retraining, home safety assessment, strengthening and stabilization exercises, flexibility training, balance and neuromuscular retraining as well as manual interventions including soft tissue mobilizations or joint manipulations. Depending on your course of treatment, your therapist will decide which of these interventions will provide you with the best results.
How many visits will I need?
On your first visit, you will have the opportunity to discuss your plan of care with your physical or occupational therapist to determine the best course of action. They will estimate the number of visits you will need. We often see results quickly and the number of visits can range from as little as 2 or more, depending on your rehabilitation diagnosis. We highly encourage our patients to complete their therapy plan to maximize their benefits and return to their functional lifestyle.
What’s next after physical therapy?
Throughout your sessions of therapy, your therapist will be providing you with home exercises and self-management techniques to promote independence. This will also propel you towards reaching your goals and returning to your prior level of function. A robust Home Exercise Program will be established to support you in maintaining all the health and fitness goals that you achieved during your episode of therapy.
What if my problem or pain returns?
Many patients may go weeks, months or years before their symptoms return.As part of your comprehensive, patient focused therapy we provide you with the techniques and self-management exercises to manage your symptoms independently after the episode of care is complete. In the instance that your symptoms do return or new symptoms arise, we want you to feel free to call us and discuss the option of resuming therapy.

We partner with assisted living facilities, memory care communities, independent living communities, and other senior living residences throughout Palm Beach and Martin County.
Which therapy services does Novoleo provide to ALF residents?
We provide home-based outpatient physical and occupational therapy to residents, billed under Medicare Part B.
Do you charge the facility a fee for coming into the home?
No, all of the services we provide are directly to the patient and are billed to Medicare. There is no charge to the facility for the above named services.
How will using Novoleo Therapy and Fitness benefit our residents and business?
We provide the level of therapy that is typically only seen in outpatient clinics. Are you insured/licensed to work in our facility?
Yes — Novoleo carries [professional liability insurance / whatever you actually hold] and all our therapists are licensed by the State of Florida. Certificates of insurance are available upon request.
Do you coordinate with our facility's existing therapy department or case managers?
Yes — we maintain open communication with facility staff, case managers, and family members throughout a resident's care to ensure everyone is aligned on progress and goals.
How do we refer a resident to Novoleo?
To get started, we'll need a signed physician or nurse practitioner order along with a completed intake form. Once we receive both, we can begin scheduling the resident's initial evaluation. Contact us at 561-320-3211 to begin the referral process.
How quickly can a new resident be seen?
Most residents are evaluated within 72 hours of referral provided.
Can residents receive therapy if they are currently receiving home health nursing?
No. Home health nursing is billed under Medicare Part A, while Novoleo bills under Medicare Part B — the two cannot be billed concurrently for the same resident.
Can residents on hospice still receive therapy from Novoleo?
Yes — we can treat residents who have elected hospice, as long as the therapy is for a condition unrelated to the terminal diagnosis and is medically necessary, including addressing functional decline and quality of life. Coverage and billing are handled separately from hospice services, and we coordinate with the hospice team to ensure care is aligned and appropriately documented.
Does Novoleo offer any other services that are not covered by insurance?
