Can I go directly to my physical therapist?
Yes. Florida is a "Direct Access" state for physical therapy, so you do not need a physician's referral to begin. You can come to us as your first line of care for pain or injury, and we can evaluate and treat you for up to 30 days without a physician's signature.
Florida law does not require a physician referral to begin occupational therapy either.
That said, we recommend getting an order from your physician or nurse practitioner before starting. It lets us confirm that the physician who will sign your plan of care is on board with your treatment, so there are no surprises later.
To continue therapy beyond the initial period, a physician or nurse practitioner must review and sign your plan of care, as required by Florida law for physical therapy and by Medicare and most insurance plans. We send your plan of care to your physician for signature, and we cannot continue treatment without it. We always want to work collaboratively with your physician to provide a comprehensive care plan.
How do I get started with Novoleo?
Call or text us at (561) 320-3211, or email info@novoleotf.com, and we'll begin the intake process together.
What areas does Novoleo serve?
Palm Beach County and Martin County, Florida — including Stuart, Jupiter, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Wellington, and Boynton Beach.
Do you provide therapy in assisted living or memory care facilities?
Yes, in addition to private residences.
Does Medicare cover in-home physical therapy?
Yes, Novoleo accepts Traditional Medicare Part B for covered services — we do not accept Medicare Advantage (replacement) plans.
How does the billing process work?
Novoleo accepts Traditional Medicare Part B and private pay — we do not accept Medicare Advantage (replacement) plans. After verifying your Medicare benefits, each session is submitted to Medicare for review. Before your initial evaluation, we do our best to tell you your expected copay or coinsurance, so there are no surprises. Private-pay patients can schedule directly, with no insurance-verification wait.
Is my therapist licensed?
Yes — all of our physical and occupational therapists are licensed by the State of Florida and hold advanced degrees. Many are also trained in specialty areas like Health Coaching, Kinesiology, Geriatric Exercise Science, Lymphedema treatment, LSVT (Parkinson's Program), and Dementia care.
What happens during my first visit?
A thorough interview, evaluation, and examination — including standardized testing and a health questionnaire. Depending on your needs, there may be more or less testing involved.
How long will each treatment last?
Your initial evaluation typically lasts 60–90 minutes, with follow-up visits lasting 45–60 minutes depending on your plan of care.
How should I dress?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes — T-shirts, sweats, shorts — and good supportive shoes like gym shoes.
What types of treatments will I receive?
Whatever fits your specific needs — options include whole body vibration, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, cold and heat therapy, home safety assessments, strengthening and balance retraining, and hands-on manual therapy.
Why are people referred to physical and occupational therapy?
Common reasons include shoulder or back pain, difficulty walking, arthritis, falls, joint replacements, Parkinson's, post-stroke recovery, and general strengthening to reduce fall risk. Our priority is helping you meet or exceed your functional independence goals.
How many visits will I need?
Your therapist will estimate this at your first visit. We often see results quickly, and the number of visits can range from as few as 2 or more, depending on your diagnosis.
What's next after physical therapy?
You'll leave with a robust Home Exercise Program and self-management techniques to maintain the progress you've made and support your independence long-term.
What if my problem or pain returns?
Many patients go weeks, months, or years symptom-free. If symptoms do return, just give us a call — resuming therapy is always an option.

Do you charge the facility a fee for coming into the home?
No, all of the services we provide are directly to the patient and are billed to Medicare. There is no charge to the facility for these therapy services.
Can residents receive therapy if they are currently receiving home health nursing?
No. Home health nursing is billed under Medicare Part A, while Novoleo bills under Medicare Part B — the two cannot be billed concurrently for the same resident.
Can residents on hospice still receive therapy from Novoleo?
Yes — we can treat residents who have elected hospice, as long as the therapy is for a condition unrelated to the terminal diagnosis and is medically necessary, including addressing functional decline and quality of life. Coverage and billing are handled separately from hospice services, and we coordinate with the hospice team to ensure care is aligned and appropriately documented.
Are you insured/licensed to work in our facility?
Yes — Novoleo carries professional liability insurance, and all of our therapists are licensed by the State of Florida. Certificates of insurance are available upon request.
Do you coordinate with our facility's existing therapy department or case managers?
Yes — we maintain open communication with facility staff, case managers, and family members throughout a resident's care to ensure everyone is aligned on progress and goals.
